HOUSE RESOLUTION
recognizing and congratulating kapolei high school girls volleyball team and their coaches for claiming the 2008 OIA Girls Volleyball White Conference Championship.
WHEREAS, the athletic program at Kapolei High School is an integral part of the total educational program of activities for student-athletes who have numerous opportunities to display school pride and loyalty through their conduct and performance on and off the field; and
WHEREAS, the philosophy of Kapolei High School is to develop the physical and mental skills of the student-athlete; present opportunities where the student-athletes may develop responsibility for his or her own learning, understand that it is essential for human beings to work together, be involved in complex thinking and problem solving, and recognize and produce quality performance; and
WHEREAS, by living this philosophy, student-athletes can contribute to the development of positive character as an integral part of the total educational program where the fundamental principles of caring, dignity and integrity are key aspects of the athletic program.; and
WHEREAS, the KAPOLEI HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM supports the philosophy of the athletic program by displaying exceptional character through their conduct and performance on and off the field; and
WHEREAS, the KAPOLEI HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM had a winning season of eighteen wins to one loss; and
WHEREAS, on October 30, 2008, KAPOLEI HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND THEIR COACHES claimed the 2008 OIA girls volleyball white conference championship title after a three game win over Kailua High School; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-fifth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2009, that this body hereby congratulates and commends KAPOLEI HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND THEIR COACHES for winning the 2008 OIA girls volleyball white conference championship, and extends to them its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
