A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-eighth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Central middle school, Oahu
Design and construction to enclose the pedestrian overpass that connects the mauka and makai campuses.

B. Miriam K. Likelike elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction to upgrade the electrical system campus-wide.

C. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for the renovation of building W, ground and site improvements, and appurtenances.

Design and construction to upgrade the water circulation system and to replace the lining system in the reflecting pools.

Design, construction, and equipment to upgrade sound system to satisfy current requirements of licensed theatre users. Project qualifies as a grant, pursuant to chapter 42F, HRS.

4. To be expended by the department of human services:
A. Pacific Gateway Center's Keehi community resource center facility, Oahu
Plans and design for a building to serve as a central community resource center for existing Oahu community service agencies. Project qualifies as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, HRS.

A. Public housing sites and units, statewide
Design, construction, and equipment to repair or convert public housing sites and units to meet accessibility requirements.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
