RELATING TO CREATIVE MEDIA. Proposed HD2: Establishes the system-wide, statewide academy for creative media program in statute under the University of Hawaii. Amends Act 11, Special Session Laws 2007, to refocus the purpose section, delete all references to a lease agreement with PBS Hawaii, and provide that funds shall be expended to expand the programs and facilities of the academy for creative media program at a system-wide, statewide level directed to UH-West Oahu. Establishes and funds creativity academies.

*The committee is considering amending this measure to establish a Task Force to Study the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children to examine the Compact and related issues. The Compact is intended to facilitate a more uniform approach between states to ensure that children have the educational opportunities they deserve even after the move to another state.
