RELATING TO THE WEST MAUI TRANSPORTATION ACCESS PLAN. Creates an informal, temporary West Maui transportation access plan working group to develop a West Maui transportation access plan. Allows hiring of a consultant without regard to the Hawaii procurement code to develop the plan. Appropriates funds. (HB2531 HD1)

MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM. Appropriates $21,253,032 out to the State Highway Fund for fiscal year 2007-2008.

RELATING TO TAXATION. Exempts from general excise and use taxes the fuel sold from a foreign-trade zone for intrastate air transportation by common carriers. (HB2860 HD2)

RELATING TO DRIVER LICENSES. Permits the examiner of drivers to also waive the knowledge test for applicants holding a valid drivers license from another state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, a province of the Dominion of Canada, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION. Allows for the greater flexibility in granting special motor vehicle registration. (HB3011 HD1)
