RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Makes subject to a collective bargaining agreement:  the determination of the minimum period of time that teachers, principals, and vice-principals shall serve as probationary employees of the department; crediting toward fulfillment of the probationary period any full-time intern teaching period served in the state; renewing any annual contract with any teacher, principal, or vice-principal during the probationary period; and discharging or demoting a teacher, principal, or vice-principal during the probationary period.  (HB2367 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO LIFE INSURANCE.

Allows the premiums for employee group life insurance policies to be paid by the employer, the insured employees, or both.  Eliminates requirement that the employee group life insurance policies must cover at least 10 employees at date of issue.  Eliminates policy limits against loss due to death of a dependent other than the spouse of the insured employee under an employee group life insurance policy. Excludes the exercise of among corporate affiliates of a term conversion privilege from the applicability of laws relating to the replacement of life insurance policies and annuities.  (HB2255 HD1)

REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS TO CONDUCT A PILOT PROJECT TO AUDIT WORKERS' COMPENSATION SOFT-TISSUE INJURY CASES.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.
