The Senate Committee on Human Services and Public Housing and the House Committee on Human Services and Housing will meet to address various issues related to public housing.

The public and legislature will be updated about progress being made to renovate various public housing units and the status of repair and maintenance projects for all public housing projects across the State of Hawaii will be provided by the Hawaii Public Housing Authority.

There will also be discussion by Waianae Community Outreach about concerns regarding the re-admission policies of the Hawaii Public Housing Authority.

There will be a presentation by a representative from Durrant Media Five on "Strategic Asset Services."

Developed by Durrant Media Five, Strategic Asset Services (SAS) is a sophisticated analysis designed to help manage, prioritize and finance capital improvements for real property and holdings of a building or facility.  Performed by trained architects, civil, structural and mechanical engineers and professionals, the SAS is a full inspection of all assets – equipment, building materials, plumbing, electrical, structural and mechanical systems.  Once identified and inventoried, the assets are then evaluated to determine their life-spans of assets to determine repairs and replacement cost over time.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign or foreign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL THE COMMITTEE CLERK AT 586-6130.
