Proposed HD1:  Extends the time allowed to acquire the lands designated as part of the South Kona Wilderness Area on the island of Hawaii.

RELATING TO SALARY PAYMENTS.

Proposed HD1:  Assists the legislature with fact-finding and promotes complete and truthful disclosure by prohibiting the payment of salaries of state employees who coerce, intimidate, or otherwise prevent subordinates from sharing information at legislative hearings or in response to other legislative inquiries.

Proposed HD1:  Adds various tax credits and repeals the Ko Olina Resort and Marina and Makaha tax credit.

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Proposed HD2:  Authorizes DOTax to study and evaluate the economic impact of existing and proposed State tax incentives.  Authorizes DOTax to collect and evaluate information from January 1, 2002, as part of its annual survey of businesses that have benefited from various high technology tax incentives.  Requires DOTax to report annually to the Legislature, until 2012, on its findings of the economic impact of the tax incentives.  Appropriates funds.

SB 3168, SD2, HD1

RELATING TO CREATIVE MEDIA.

Proposed HD2:  Establishes the system-wide, statewide academy for creative media program in statute under the University of Hawaii.  Amends Act 11, Special Session Laws 2007, to refocus the purpose section, delete all references to a lease agreement with PBS Hawaii, and provide that funds shall be expended to expand the programs and facilities of the academy for creative media program at a system-wide, statewide level directed to UH-West Oahu.  Establishes and funds creativity academies.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The date and agenda no. of the hearing;

·     Measure number;

·     If you will be testifying in person or submitting written testimony only;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
