RELATING TO DENTISTRY. Prohibits interference in the practice of dentistry by an unlicensed person or entity. Prohibits the practice of dentistry in a commercial or mercantile establishment. (HB2301 HD1)

RELATING TO DISPENSING OPTICIANS. Specifies that a dispensing optician's license is required for the dispensing and fitting, upon written prescription, of non-corrective contact lenses and for the sale of or offer to sell non-corrective contact lenses.

RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION. Prohibits a towing company from charging the owner of a vehicle targeted for towing if the owner of the vehicle appears on the scene. (HB509 HD2)

RELATED TO TOWING. Allows towing companies to charge overtime fees during certain hours of operations. Requires tow companies operating in a county with a population of 500,000 or more to offer consumer service 24 hours a day.

Requires the public utilities commission to ensure that a percentage of the total rated generating capacity produced by eligible customer-generators be reserved for electricity produced by eligible residential or small commercial customer-generators. RELATING TO FRAUD PREVENTION. Requires notary public to place seal over a succinct phrase describing document being notarized and to separately record a description of the document. Authorizes attorney general to adopt rules to prevent fraudulent use of notarized documents. (Deferred from Wednesday, January 30, 2008 hearing.) |

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns. This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
