RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE. Requires motor vehicle insurers to reduce the rates of any individual who successfully completes a driver improvement course. (HB2093 HD1)

RELATING TO TIME SHARE PLANS. Exempts from the time share law the offer or sale of an additional interest in a time share plan to an existing purchaser in the same time share plan; provided that certain conditions are met. Exempts from the time share law the offer or sale by a developer, in Hawaii, of a time share interest in a time share plan located outside of Hawaii to an individual who currently owns a time share interest that was purchased from the developer, or the developer's affiliates; provided that certain requirements are met.

RELATING TO TATTOOING. Exempts experts in the practice of Kakau, traditional Hawaiian tattooing, from current tattoo licensure laws. (HB2887 HD1)

RELATING TO NURSING. Allows a master's degree candidate in a nursing program who has completed the pre-licensure component of the program to apply for a license by examination to practice as a registered nurse.

RELATING TO INSURANCE. Requires insurers that offer health care coverage to the regular employees of any group or association to offer the same coverage to part-time employees working at least 15 hours per week; insurance commissioner to report on Act's cost-benefit to the 2010 legislature; sunsets July 1, 2010.

PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM CERTAIN TOXIC PRODUCTS. Prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of products for young children that contain bisphenol-A or phthalates. Requires manufacturers to choose safe alternatives. (HB2449 HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee the comments are directed to;
· The date and time of the hearing;
· Measure number; and
· The number of copies the Committee is requesting.
While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

FAX: For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to CPC Vice Chair at 586-6161(Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (Neighbor Islands); or
EMAIL: For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to CPCtestimony@Capitol.hawaii.gov.
Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns. This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
