Status

RELATING TO THE PATIENTS' BILL OF RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ACT.

Amends the Patients' Bill of Rights and Responsibilities Act by prohibiting certain unfair or deceptive business practices by managed care plans, such as disenrolling a person because of a medical condition.  Effective January 1, 2050.  (SB3015 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO CONTRACTORS.

Amends §444-10.5, HRS, to prohibit the resumption of work for any person who is issued a citation for operating without a contractor's license in good standing until a hearing is conducted, and makes the issuance of citations and cease and desist orders mandatory. Increases penalties.  (SB2896 HD1)

RELATING TO PETROLEUM INDUSTRY REPORTING.

Give the PUC more discretionary authority with the reporting requirements for information reported by oil producers, refiners, marketers, oil transporters, oil storers, and oil retailers.  (SB2630 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Allows the board of directors of a condominium to lease common elements of the condominium, under certain conditions, that are not used by the unit owners for purposes permitted in the declaration.  Requires that all direct costs attributable to condominium hotel operations be charged only to unit owners whose units are including in the condominium hotel operations. (SD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
