Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: S.R. No. 83
Honorable Colleen Hanabusa
President of the Senate
Twenty-Fourth State Legislature
Regular Session of 2008
State of Hawaii
Madam:
Your Committees on Health and Human Services and Public Housing and Intergovernmental and Military Affairs, to which was referred S.R. No. 83 entitled:
"SENATE RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE "DIVIDED WE FAIL" CAMPAIGN,"
beg leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to proclaim the Legislature's support for the "Divided We Fail" campaign to find long term solutions for affordable access to health care and financial security for all of Hawaii's residents.
Your Committees received testimony in support of this measure from the American Association of Retired Persons, and nine individuals.
Your Committees find that health care and financial security are the most vital issues facing our State. Supporting the "Divided We Fail" campaign provides a significant step forward in the bipartisan approach to finding long term health care and financial solutions for the people of Hawaii.
As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Health and Human Services and Public Housing and Intergovernmental and Military Affairs that are attached to this report, your Committees concur with the intent and purpose of S.R. No. 83 and recommend its adoption.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committees on Health and Human Services and Public Housing and Intergovernmental and Military Affairs,
