     Your Committee on Human Services and Public Housing, to which was referred S.C.R. No. 8 entitled:

"SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR TO RESCHEDULE THE YEAR OF THE FAMILY CELEBRATION FROM 2008 TO 2009,"

begs leave to report as follows:

     The purpose of this measure is to request that the Governor reschedule observance of the Year of the Family from 2008 to 2009.

     Testimony in support of this measure was submitted by the Family Celebration Commission.

     Your Committee finds that this measure is essential to provide the Family Celebration Commission with the time necessary to complete its ongoing work and accomplish its objectives in as successful a manner as possible. 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Human Services and Public Housing that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of S.C.R. No. 8 and recommends its adoption.
