Your Committee on International Affairs, to which was referred H.R. No. 19 entitled:
"HOUSE RESOLUTION URGING THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO ENACT LEGISLATION TO EXEMPT CHILDREN OF FILIPINO WORLD WAR II VETERANS FROM IMMIGRANT VISA LIMITS,"
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this resolution is to urge the United States Congress to enact legislation to exempt children of Filipino World War II veterans from immigrant visa limits and grant them priority issuance of visas.
The Oahu Filipino Community Council, Filipino American Citizens League, National Federation of Filipino American Associations Region 12, Philippine Nurses Association-Hawaii, Congress of Visayan Organizations, Filipino Coalition for Solidarity, Nursing Advocates & Mentors, Inc., and United Filipino Council of Hawaii testified in support of this resolution.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on International Affairs that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.R. No. 19 and recommends that it be referred to the Committee on Public Safety & Military Affairs.
