     Your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 606, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of: 

 

Board of Taxation Review, 3rd Taxation District (Hawai‘i)

PETER M. TADAKI,

for a term to expire 6-30-2012,

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee and finds Peter M. Tadaki to possess the requisite qualifications to be nominated to the Board of Taxation Review for the 3rd Taxation District.

 

     Testimony in support of the nomination of Peter M. Tadaki was submitted by the Department of Taxation.

 

     Peter M. Tadaki holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from Willamette University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Hawaii.  Mr. Tadaki has practiced in public accounting for over twenty-one years and currently has an emerging accounting practice in Hilo, Hawaii.  Over the years, Mr. Tadaki has worked with clientele ranging from the successful businessman to elderly retirees who collect a pension.  That experience is just one example of how Mr. Tadaki could contribute to resolving issues on the Board of Taxation Review for the 3rd Taxation District.  Mr. Tadaki is also frequently involved with community organizations and activities and is well-respected for his professionalism throughout the 3rd Taxation District.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
