     Your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 571, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of: 

 

Board of Taxation Review, 4th Taxation District (Kaua'i)

     Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee and finds Eric Norio Yama to possess the requisite qualifications to be nominated to the Board of Taxation Review for the 4th Taxation District.

 

     Testimony in support of the nomination of Eric Norio Yama was submitted by the Department of Taxation, Anuenue Associates, and Lihue Missionary Church.

 

     Eric Norio Yama holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is a licensed Real Estate Broker.  In addition, Mr. Yama is a Certified Residential Specialist and Certified Residential Broker.  For the past thirty years, Mr. Yama has worked for Kauai Realty, Inc., where he currently serves as Managing Partner.  His primary responsibilities are to resolve any disputes or conflicts, manage the employees and thirty-nine agents, and to remain knowledgeable in the areas of business and finance that may impact his company or profession.  Mr. Yama is also frequently involved with community organizations and activities and is highly regarded in the business community throughout the 4th Taxation District.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
