     Your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 469, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of: 

 

Board of Taxation Review, 1st Taxation District (Oahu)

TRACY T. CHIANG,

for a term to expire 6-30-2011,

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee and finds Tracy T. Chiang to possess the requisite qualifications to be nominated to the Board of Taxation Review for the 1st Taxation District.

 

     Testimony in support of the nomination of Tracy T. Chiang was submitted by the Department of Taxation.

 

     Tracy T. Chiang earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Providence College and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Mrs. Chiang also is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Hawaii and she holds a Real Estate and Series 6, 26, 63, and 65 licenses.  Mrs. Chiang has specialized in tax preparation, tax planning, and compilations, including the last fifteen years in her private practice.  In addition, she currently is the Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction manager for World Financial Group & World Group Securities, Inc.  Mrs. Chiang's background, education, and professional experience will be a tremendous benefit to the Board of Taxation Review for the 1st Taxation District to assist them in resolving the tax issues that come to the Board in a fair, efficient, and equitable manner.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
