     Your Committee on Judiciary and Labor, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 409, submitting for study and consideration the nominations of: 

 

Board of Registration of the Island of Oahu

MAUREEN K. MURAOKA,

for a term to expire 6-30-2012,

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     Your Committee received testimony in support of Maureen K. Muraoka from the Office of Elections, one State House of Representatives member, one Honolulu City Councilmember, and three individuals.

 

     The nominee is being reappointed for a second term to the Board of Registration of the Island of Oahu as the Republican appointment.  Ms. Muraoka is currently employed as a Legislative Aide in the Hawaii State Legislature. 

 

     According to testimony of the Office of Elections, as the Chairperson of the Board of Registration of the Island of Oahu, Ms. Muraoka has shown herself to be fair in her duties.  Testimony also indicated that her integrity is exemplary.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Judiciary and Labor that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
