     Your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 338, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of: 

 

Board of Taxation Review, 2nd Taxation District (Maui)

for a term to expire 6-30-2012,

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee and finds Patrick L. Ing to possess the requisite qualifications to be nominated to the Board of Taxation Review for the 2nd Taxation District.

 

     Testimony in support of the nomination of Patrick L. Ing was submitted by the Department of Taxation.

 

     Patrick L. Ing holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Accounting both from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Mr. Ing is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Hawaii.  He has over seventeen years of experience working in the public accounting industry, including over twelve years in his own tax and accounting practice.  Previously, Mr. Ing played an instrumental role in resolving conflicts between the Board of Taxation Review for the 2nd Taxation District and the taxpayers within its jurisdiction.  Upon serving a second term on the Board of Taxation Review for the 2nd Taxation District, Mr. Ing will continue to utilize his professional and personal experiences to fairly and equitably resolve the issues facing the Board.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development and Taxation that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
