STAND. COM. REP. NO. 3285
Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 301
Honorable Colleen Hanabusa
President of the Senate
Twenty-Fourth State Legislature
Regular Session of 2008
State of Hawaii
Madam:
Your Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Affordable Housing, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 301, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
Contractors License Board
G.M. No. 301 |
DENNY R. SADOWSKI, for a term to expire 6-30-2012, |
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee, and finds Denny R. Sadowski to have the necessary qualifications to be nominated to the Contractors License Board for a second term.
Testimony in support of Mr. Sadowski's nomination was submitted by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs; Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii; the Building Industry Association (BIA) – Hawaii; the Coalition of Hawaii Engineering & Architectural Professionals; CC Engineering & Construction, Inc.; and five private individuals.
Mr. Sadowski received his Bachelor in Business Administration degree and his Master of Arts degree in Student Personnel Administration from Iowa State University. He currently serves as Secretary and Treasurer of CO-HA Builders, Inc. dba Applied Surfacing Technology, which he founded and has owned for over thirty years. He is a member of BIA-Hawaii, where he served on the Board of Directors and as Chairperson of its Government Relations Committee, and is a member of the General Contractors Association. He also serves as the President of the AOAO for 949 Prospect and Vice President of the AOAO for Harbor View Plaza.
Mr. Sadowski has been a licensed contractor in Hawaii since 1979 and holds a specialty contractor license in the asphalt paving and synthetic field surface classifications. He has demonstrated to the Contractors License Board his many years of experience in the construction industry and his familiarity with licensing issues and concerns. Due to his experience in government affairs as the Chairperson of the BIA-Hawaii's Government Relations Committee, he is instrumental in tracking legislative matters and testifies at legislative hearings on the Board's behalf. Mr. Sadowski's demonstrated commitment, motivation, education, and professional experiences will greatly assist the Contractors License Board for a second term.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Affordable Housing that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Affordable Housing,
|
