Your Committee on Agriculture and Hawaiian Affairs, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 269, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:

Your Committee has reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee and finds Lee Douglas MacCluer to have the necessary qualifications to be nominated to the Board of Agriculture.
Testimony in support of the nomination of Lee Douglas MacCluer was submitted by the Department of Agriculture, Hawaii Farm Bureau, Hawaii Agriculture Research Center, Maui County Farm Bureau, Tropical Hawaiian Products, and one interested individual.
Mr. MacCluer received his Bachelor's degree in General Agriculture from California State University, Fresno. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Mr. MacCluer was employed by Maui Land and Pineapple Company, Inc. as the Vice President of Agricultural Development and Plantation Manager. He is currently active in numerous community service activities including serving as the Chairperson of the Maui Drought Mitigation Commission.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Agriculture and Hawaiian Affairs that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
