SENATE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

Requesting the Department of land and natural resources to determine ownership of THE RIGHTS-OF-WAY IN certain LANES in urban oahu.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, it is often difficult for tenants, landlords, and other interested parties to ascertain information about ownership of certain rights-of-way, which is important for issues relating to maintenance and improvement; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Department of Land and Natural Resources manages the State's public lands and provides a central repository for all instruments of conveyance of real property; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Bureau of Conveyances within the Department of Land and Natural Resources, is responsible for maintaining accuracy in records for title to real property and for eliminating errors in title registration; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Bureau of Conveyances maintains comprehensive records of documents regarding land titles and makes copies of land records available to various agencies and individuals so that individuals can obtain information of interest to them; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Twenty-Fourth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2008, the House of Representatives concurring, that the Department of Land and Natural Resources is requested to determine and identify the persons or entities that own any property interest in the rights-of-way in the following lanes in Honolulu, Oahu:

 

     (1)  Akepo lane;

 

     (2)  Akau lane;

 

     (3)  Auld lane;

 

     (4)  Austin lane;

 

     (5)  Desha lane;

 

     (6)  Eu lane;

 

     (7)  Hikina lane;

 

     (8)  Iao lane;

 

     (9)  Lakimela lane;

 

    (10)  Lopez lane;

 

    (11)  Peterson lane;

 

    (12)  Rawlins lane;

 

    (13)  Robello lane;

 

    (14)  Akala lane;

 

    (15)  Ninihua lane; and

 

    (16)  Wong Ho lane; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Land and Natural Resources is requested to post its findings on the Internet to make this information available to all interested persons not later than December 31, 2008; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Governor and the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
