A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to criminal procedure.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, to fund the establishment by the Hawaii criminal justice data center of the department of the attorney general, of an automated and centralized warrant management system that can be accessed by all law enforcement personnel.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, to fund additional sheriffs' positions, including salaries and the purchase of necessary vehicles, dedicated to the exclusive purpose of the service and execution of warrants.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated in section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the Hawaii criminal justice data center of the department of the attorney general, and the sums appropriated in section 2 of this Act shall be expended by the department of public safety for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
