A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE ninth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $1,245,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the ninth senatorial district, as follows:
1. W.P. Jarrett middle school
A. New cement foundation and floor tiling for buildings A and B
Design $100,000 for building A
Design $100,000 for building B
Construction $320,000 for building A
Construction $320,000 for building B
Total funding $840,000
2. Aliiolani school
A. Parking lot paving and drainage improvements
Design & Construction $85,000
Total funding $85,000
3. Palolo school
A. Resurface parking lot
Design & construction $35,000
Total funding $35,000
4. Liholiho school
A. Parking lot expansion and paving
Design & construction $165,000
Total funding $165,000
5. Hawaii school for the deaf and blind
A. Covered walkway to connect buildings D and F dormitory buildings
Design & construction $120,000
Total funding $120,000
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
