A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the state of hawaii.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 5-20, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"[[]§5-20[]] Public
display of Hawaiian flag; position. On every occasion of public display of
the Hawaiian flag[, within] in the State of Hawaii, it shall
occupy the position of honor when displayed in company with the flags of other
states, nations, or international organizations; provided[, however,]
that when the United States flag is displayed with the Hawaiian flag, the
national flag shall occupy such position of honor."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
