A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE WAIANAE COAST.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Act 6, Session Laws of Hawaii Special Session 2005, is amended by amending section 6 to read as follows:

     "SECTION 6.  The department of land and natural resources shall submit an interim report on the baseline environmental study to the legislature not later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of [2007.] 2008, and a final report on the baseline environmental study to the legislature not later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2009."

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the continuing preparation of the baseline environmental study required to establish the boundaries of an ocean recreation management area between Kalaeloa point and Kaena point, Oahu.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
