A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE EXEMPTION OF STATE HIGHWAY PROJECTS FROM THE COUNTY SUBDIVISION APPROVAL PROCESS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 264, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to read as follows:

     "§264-  Exemption from county subdivision approval requirements.  State highway projects shall be exempt from county subdivision approval requirements contained in section 46-6.5, any other statute or law to the contrary notwithstanding."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
