A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2008-2009:
To be expended by the department of education:
A. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for electrical upgrades in buildings D, E, G, and H, and in portables 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6.
Total funding $300,000
Construction for resurfacing of lower and upper play courts
Total funding $35,000
Design and construction for installation of a ceiling mounted AV projector system in building G (cafetorium).
Total funding $30,000
B. Hokulani elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for accessible parking and shelter.
Total funding $200,000
Design and construction for ADA transition accessibility.
Total funding $375,000
C. King William Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for electrical evaluation and upgrade
Total funding $400,000
D. Manoa elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for resurfacing of the play court (blacktop) area adjacent to building E (cafetorium).

Planning and design for expansion of the library facility to accommodate larger collection space, more computer stations, a multi-media studio, and student lounge.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
