STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

making an appropriation for the legislative broadcast program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $80,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for closed captioning services for legislative broadcasts under the legislative broadcast program; provided that the funds shall be allocated as follows:

     (1)  $40,000 to the senate; and

     (2)  $40,000 to the house of representatives.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the senate and the house of representatives, as appropriate, for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
