A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HAWAII CAPITAL CULTURAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the renovation of the Kamamalu building located at 1010 Richards street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813 as follows:

Design $
Construction $
Total $
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. At the conclusion of the renovation of the Kamamalu building in section 1 of this Act, the state agencies located in the No. 1 Capitol District Building (a.k.a. Hemmeter building) at 250 South Hotel street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813, shall be transferred to the Kamamalu building.
The No. 1 Capitol District Building shall then be renamed the Hawaii State Art Museum and used exclusively for the purposes and needs of the museum.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
