A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE EIGHTEENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $77,856,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the eighteenth senatorial district, as follows:
1. University of Hawaii – Leeward community college

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated under section 1(1) of this Act shall be expended by the University of Hawaii.
SECTION 4. The sums appropriated under section 1(8) of this Act shall be expended by the department of transportation.
SECTION 5. The sums appropriated under sections 1(2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), and (9) shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 6. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 7. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
