A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO STREAM MAINTENANCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to make an appropriation of $287,500 to the department of transportation for the purchase of the following equipment to be used for streams on the island of Oahu:

          Forklift                     $32,500

          Trailer                      $12,000

          Tire Loader (3)              $135,000

          Trailer (3)                  $36,000

          Track Loader                 $60,000

          Trailer                      $12,000

                   TOTAL              $287,500

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $287,500 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the purchase of the equipment as set forth in this Act to be used to maintain streams on the island of Oahu.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
