A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Section 11-208, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

     "(b)  The affidavit shall state that the candidate knows the voluntary campaign expenditure limitations as set out in section 11-209 and that the candidate is voluntarily agreeing to limit the candidate's expenditures and those made on the candidate's behalf by the amount set by law.  The affidavit shall be subscribed to by the candidate and notarized[.] by a notary public appointed and commissioned under section 456-1."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
