A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE aiea-pearl city district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $74,744,360, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008, for the following capital improvements in the Aiea and Pearl City area:
1. Aiea elementary school
A. Continuation of school-wide air conditioning; installation in
buildings B, E, library and office.

A. Renovation and expansion of cafeteria; ground and site improvements.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education in the case of items 1 to 15, the University of Hawaii in the case of item 16, and the department of transportation in the case of item 17 for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
