A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE thirteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $34,533,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirteenth senatorial district, as follows:
1. Central middle school
Repair overpass cage over
Vineyard Boulevard

2. Farrington high school
A. Perform electrical upgrade
Total funding $775,000
B. Plan, design, and construct
New athletic pool complex
Total funding $5,000,000
3. Kalihi-Kai elementary school
Perform electrical upgrade

4. Kauluwela elementary school
A. Plan, design, and construct
covered walkway
Total funding $30,000
B. Plan, design, and construct
new cafeteria
Total funding $6,000,000
5. Kawananakoa middle school

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1, items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1, item 6 shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
