A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO LEGISLATIVE ACCESS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 21D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§21D-    Online access to voting records.  The voting record of each member of the legislature shall be available

online within twenty-four hours of a vote conducted in committee or on the chamber floor.  The webpage shall be organized by:

     (1)  Bill Status of each legislative measure voted on; and

     (2)  The voting record of each member.

The webpage of the voting record of each member shall be  organized so that the recorded vote of the member on a legislative measure is included under the particular member's name.

     For the purposes of this section, "legislative measure" means a bill, concurrent resolution, resolution, or consent to a nomination or appointment made by the governor or chief justice."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
