A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE FOURTEENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $4,865,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fourteenth senatorial district, as follows:
1. Governor Sanford B. Dole middle school
A. Campus safety and security improvements,
Phase I: design and construction
for various improvements, ground, and site improvements, equipment,
and appurtenances
Design $ 50,000
Construction $175,000
Total funding $225,000
B. Campus classroom additions,
Phase I: Design and construction
of various improvements, ground,
site improvements, equipment, and
appurtenances
Design $ 100,000
Construction $1,000,000
Total funding $1,100,000
2. Aiea intermediate school
A. Cafeteria stage expansion project
Equipment $20,000
Design $160,000
Construction $1,560,000
Total funding $1,740,000
3. Kalihi Waena elementary school
A. Install air conditioning unit for
music room and computer lab and
adjoining classroom
Design $15,000
Construction $285,000
Total funding $300,000
4. Kokua Kalihi Valley
A. Renovation of "P&P Building"
located at 2229 N. School St.
into a second health clinic
Total funding $1,500,000
SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act; provided that item 4 in section 1 shall be expended by the department of health.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
