A BILL FOR AN ACT

AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A VETERANS CENTER ON THE ISLAND OF MOLOKAI.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $2,746,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008, for the design, construction, and equipping of a veterans center on Molokai.

     SECTION 2.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2007-2008:

     MOLOKAI VETERANS CENTER

          Design                                    $  206,000

          Construction                               2,569,000

          Kitchen Equipment                          150,000

          Furnishings                                   40,000

          TOTAL                                    $2,965,000

     SECTION 3.  The appropriations made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all money from the appropriations unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse of that date.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of defense for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
