HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

Congratulating the Pearl city little league juniors for WINNING the 2007 junior league BASEBALL world series championsHIP.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, inasmuch as our youth represents the foundation of Hawaii’s future, the State is always proud to recognize the accomplishments of those conscientious and energetic individuals who epitomize the best of Hawaii’s young athletes; and

 

     WHEREAS, thousands of Hawaii’s youth have acquired tremendous sportsmanship and teamwork skills and gained personal fulfillment and success by participating in Little League Baseball’s numerous community, statewide, national, and international competitions; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Hawaii District 7 Little League Baseball Junior Division Team from Pearl City finished in second place in the USA Championships every year from 2003 to 2006; and

 

     WHEREAS, on August 18, 2007, in Taylor, Michigan, the Pearl City Little League Junior Division Team became the 2007 JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS, defeating the International Little League Association of Manila Central team from Makati City, Philippines, with a score of 6-2; and

 

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride and admiration that the people of the State of Hawaii acknowledge and commend the 2007 JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS, comprised of youths, ages 13 and 14, from Pearl City, Hawaii:  BRENNAN DOANE-ALCOS, KAINALU CHMOLACK, BRYCEN KOMETANI, SHAYNE KURIHARA, KORY NAKAMURA, KAHANA NEAL, CHACE NUMATA, CHEVAS NUMATA, CHRISTIAN PERKINS, KAWIKA "SUMI" PRUETT, KEANU SATO, ISAAC SHIM, MIKEY UEHARA, and J.C. VALERAMOS; and


     WHEREAS, under the faithful guidance of Coach Chad Obara, Coach Ronald Shim, Coach Keith Nakamura, Coach Ron Nakamura, Team Manager Mitch Yamato, League President Liane Nakamura, and Hawaii District 7 Administrator Betty Nago, this outstanding baseball team has gained immense athletics training and discipline, cultivated admirable sportsmanlike conduct, and enhanced their athletic abilities; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-fourth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2008, that this body congratulates and recognizes the superb performance of Pearl City’s 2007 JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS, and extends to them its best wishes and warmest aloha for making Hawaii proud.
