A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to tattoos.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 321, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part XXX to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§321- Tattooing of minors prohibited. No tattoo artist shall apply a tattoo to a minor, except with the written consent of the minor's parent or guardian. Consent forms shall be retained by the tattoo artist and made available for inspection by the department. For purposes of this section, "minor" means a person under the age of eighteen years."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
