A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 205A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§205A-    Public notice; denial of application. In addition to any other notice requirements, an authority shall publish county-wide notice pursuant to section 1-28.5 within twenty days of its denial of any application for a special management area emergency permit, special management area minor permit, or special management area use permit.  The notice shall contain the authority's grounds for denying the application."     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
