A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO mental health.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 346, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§346‑ Psychiatric services; reimbursement rate. Beginning July 1, 2007, the reimbursement rate for psychiatric services shall be per cent of the seventy-fifth percentile of the current Hawaii medicaid fee profile; provided that in any county with a population of 200,000 or less, the reimbursement rate for psychiatric services shall be per cent of the seventy-fifth percentile of the current Hawaii medicaid fee profile."
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, for the medicaid program to cover the reimbursement rate increase provided for in section 1 of this Act.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of human services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
