A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE thirtieth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2008-2009:
1. To be expended by the city and county of Honolulu:
A. Kalihi street, Oahu
Land acquisition via eminent domain to widen Kalihi street from Kalihi Uka elementary school to Akone place.

B. Kalihi street, Oahu
Design and construction for repair and repavement of side streets along Kalihi street including Kilohana street, Wailele street, Ahihi street, Murphy street, Merkle street, Noe street, Laulani street, Pahulu street, Wahine place, Anuu place, Manaiki place, Akone place, Mahani loop, Kuikele street, Papali place, and Kapali street.

2. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Kalihi street, Oahu
Design and construction to remove telephone poles and placing electrical and telecommunications wire underground on Kalihi street from Kalihi Uka elementary school to Akone place.

Design and construction of sidewalks on Kalihi street from Kalihi Uka elementary school to Akone place.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in sections 1 and 2 shall be expended by the designated spending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
