A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE FORTY-FIRST REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2008-2009.
1. Waikele elementary school, Oahu
A. Design and construction of electrical lighting in visitor's parking lot and courtyard to facilitate events and meetings at night.
Design and construction $100,000
2. Kaleiopuu elementary school (Village Park), Oahu
A. Design and construction of an emergency rear exit through Hoaeae community park.
Design and construction $200,000
3. Honowai elementary school, Oahu
A. Extension of specially made fencing, seventy-five feet long and four feet high, along the back of the school, overlooking the hillside.
Design and construction $50,000
B. Additional storage facility/ container, thirty feet by ten feet.
Design and construction $25,000
SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
