A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-second representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirty second representative district, as follows:
I. To be expended by the Department of Education:
A. Aiea Elementary School, Oahu
(1) Installation of air conditioning in buildings B, E, the library, and the office.

Construction 2,100,000
Total Funding 2,500,000
B. Aiea Library, Oahu
(1) Plans, design, and construction of new
library building on new site

C. Aliamanu Middle School, Oahu
(1) Installation of 3 split-system air
conditioning units in multi-purpose meeting room, S-1.

D. Moanalua Elementary School, Oahu
(1) Plan, design and construction for
eight classrooms to replace existing portable classrooms.
Total Funding 4,000,000
(2) Plan, design, and construction to
expand library building to accommodate
technology center for students

(3) Construct roofing over existing
open walkways

E. Moanalua Middle School, Oahu
(1) Plan, design, & construction of an
electrical upgrade for buildings B, D, &
E

(2) Expansion of air conditioning to the
2nd floor of building D

F. Nimitz Elementary School, Oahu
(1) Design and construction for campus wide air conditioning; ground & site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

(2) Design, construction, and equipment for a new library building, ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

(3) Design and construction for Building C
Restrooms, ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

(4) Design and construction for renovation of campus restrooms for Building D, first and second floor restrooms; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

G. Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary School, Oahu
(1) Design and construction for improvements to Building C classrooms; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

(2) Design and construction for drainage improvements; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.
Design $32,000
Construction $86,000
Total Funding $118,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
