A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the TWENTY-FOURTH Representative district.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2008-2009.

1.   To be expended by the department of education:

A.   Hokulani elementary school, Oahu

     Design and construction for accessible parking and shelter   $ 200,000

     Design and construction for ADA transition accessibility                             $ 375,000

               Total funding                   $ 575,000

B.   Manoa elementary school, Oahu

     Design and construction for resurfacing the play court (blacktop) area adjacent to building E (cafetorium)

          Design                               $   8,000

          Construction                         $ 145,000

               Total funding                   $ 153,000

C.   Noelani elementary school, Oahu

     Planning and design for expansion of the library facility to accommodate larger collection space, more computer stations, a multimedia studio, and a student lounge                            $ 100,000

              Total funding                   $ 100,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
