A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO MEDICAL MARIJUANA.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 329, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part IX to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§329- Reciprocity; written certification. A written certification or its equivalent issued by another state government to permit the medical use of marijuana by a qualifying patient or to permit a person to assist with a qualifying patient's medical use of marijuana in that other state shall have the same force and effect in this state as a written certification issued by the department."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
