A BILL FOR AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the sums received by the State under the temporary assistance for needy families program block grant the sum of $          or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 to be deposited into the health systems special fund.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the health systems special fund the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for dental services to kupuna, keiki, the developmentally disabled, and the uninsured.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of human services for the purposes of this Act; provided that the dental services shall be provided by the dental residency program of the community-based dental health clinics of the Hawaii health systems corporation.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
