A BILL FOR AN ACT

making an appropriation for the maui office of veterans' services.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $         or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the Maui office of veterans' services as follows:

     (1)  One veterans' counselor position;

     (2)  One clerk-typist position;

     (3)  Furniture and equipment, including office desk, chairs, filing cabinet, computer, telephone, revolving files, and copier;

     (4)  Office renovations, including:

         (A)  Soundproofing walls and installing window in counselor's office; and

         (B)  Soundproofing walls and door of conference room; and

     (5)  Addition of employee lunch room.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the office of veterans' services for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
