A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the conveyance tax.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to extend the sunset date for the allocation of fifty per cent of the conveyance tax to the rental housing trust fund from June 30, 2008, to June 30, 2013.
SECTION 2. Act 100, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006, section 30, as amended by Act 222, Session Laws of Hawaii 2007, section 4, is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 30. This Act
shall take effect on July 1, 2006; provided that on June 30, [2008,] 2013,
section 21 shall be repealed and section 247-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, shall
be reenacted in the form in which it read on the day before the approval of
this Act."
SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on June 29, 2008.
