A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE NATURAL ENERGY LABORATORY OF HAWAII AUTHORITY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to facilitate the continuing development of the natural energy laboratory of Hawaii authority and to provide the authority with funds to obtain an environmental impact statement to support the reclassification of certain eighty-three acres of land from conservation to urban.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the natural energy laboratory of Hawaii authority to prepare an environmental impact statement for certain eighty-three acres of land in the county of Hawaii to support reclassification from conservation to urban.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of business, economic development, and tourism for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
